About
Britannia High is a new musical TV drama about a contemporary British performing arts school. The cast play a close knit group of six students, all sharing the same hopes and dreams of success.
The drama series sees the students learning how to make their own mark on the world. They’re learning to be the best they can, in every possible sense, learning as much about life, themselves and each other as they do about their art. We follow the lives and loves of Danny, Lauren, Claudine, BB, Jez and Lola, through their first days and months at the school over eight hour long episodes of the drama and one (part) live special.
The series which originally aired in 2008 has now finished airing. There are currently no plans for a second series but you can click here for details on who you need to write to, to request another series.
Britannia High is co-produced by ITV Productions and Globe Productions based upon an idea by Arlene Phillips and David Ian. The show features an original soudtrack which was created by a team of pop producers and writers in the UK, led by Take That member Gary Barlow. In addition to the main cast, the series features cameo performances from Girls Aloud, Boyzone, Matt Willis and Gemma Bissix. The show has been compared to popular musicals High School Musical and Fame. The cast however are of the opinion that Britannia High is “Something new. And it’s British.”
