On bank holiday Monday in Blackpool Marcquelle Ward led around 600 local residents in an attempt to break the world record for the biggest dance class. The event was part of the bank holiday’s out2dance festival and money was raised for the NSPCC charity.

The above video is the routine everyone learnt on the day, choreographed by Marcquelle himself. It still hasn’t been announced if the record has been broken, which currently stands at 626 people, but Marcquelle says it doesn’t matter.

“Whether we have succeeded in the World Record attempt or not, it was great fun, everyone was smiling and it has helped raised money for an important charity.”

Britannia High star Sophie Powles (Ronnie) has landed a part in Emmerdale! She’s playing Holly, the eldest daughter of a new family, the Bartons.

Emmerdale series producer Gavin Blyth said: “We wanted to stay true to Emmerdale’s heritage by introducing a modern-day farming family.”

Filming for the new family starts this week, so expect Sophie to return to your screens around mid-July!

As mentioned previously, we can now tell you that Matthew Thomas will be appearing in the Ruby In The Dust production of Dorian Gray at the Leicester Square Theatre.

Matt will play Oscar Wilde’s darkly tragic anti-hero Dorian Gray, a man who explores the darker side of Victorian London to find that there’s heaven and hell in all of us. Because the play takes the form of a musical drama, his character sings and plays the piano!

The play starts showing 23rd June for six weeks until the 2nd August. If you want to see Matt peform in his first ever west end production make sure you book your tickets early here, as it was completely sold out when it was shown earlier this year.
